Answers When Your Pet Needs Them Most

When your pet isn’t feeling well, fast and accurate diagnosis makes a meaningful difference. Our pet imaging services give our veterinarians a detailed view of what’s happening inside your pet’s body. That clarity helps us build a better treatment plan, sooner.

We’ve invested in a full suite of diagnostic imaging tools so we can evaluate your pet’s bones, organs, soft tissues, and internal systems right here in our facility. For cases requiring the highest level of imaging detail, we also offer VIMAGO CT advanced imaging—one of the most precise veterinary imaging platforms available.

Digital Radiology (Pet X-Rays)

Digital radiography—commonly known as digital X-rays—allows us to visualize your pet’s internal organs and body systems quickly and clearly. We use veterinary radiology to evaluate the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems.

Digital X-rays produce images within seconds, allowing our veterinarians to assess findings and begin discussing next steps with you right away. Compared to traditional film X-rays, digital radiography delivers significantly higher image quality while using far less radiation. The process is also environmentally friendly—no chemical processing required.

Veterinary Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive pet imaging tool that allows us to visualize soft tissue structures that X-rays cannot capture clearly. Using sound waves, ultrasound creates real-time images of your pet’s internal organs—including how they’re moving and how blood is flowing through them. We can evaluate the location, size, shape, and texture of organs as the scan is happening.

We routinely use dog and cat ultrasound to evaluate:

  • Organ function and dysfunction (liver, kidney, adrenal glands, spleen, pancreas)
  • Heart and lungs, including echocardiograms
  • Internal and external masses
  • Bladder infections, stones, and other concerns
  • Pyometra (uterine infection)
  • Pregnancy diagnosis
  • Abdominal fluid
  • Prostate disease
  • Internal lymph nodes
  • Intestinal wall thickness
  • Stomach evaluation

Veterinary ultrasound is often used alongside digital X-rays and other diagnostics to give our team the clearest possible picture of your pet’s health. This is particularly useful when evaluating pets with complex or chronic conditions—learn more about our pet internal medicine services.

Digital Dental Radiology

Our dental suite is equipped with digital dental X-ray technology. Dental radiology allows us to visualize the internal structure of your pet’s teeth, including roots and surrounding bone. Many forms of dental disease—such as root abscesses, bone loss, and hidden tooth fractures—are not visible during a standard oral exam.

Digital dental radiography is an essential part of every comprehensive dental procedure at our practice. It allows us to identify and treat problems that would otherwise go undetected. Learn more about our full pet dentistry services.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows us to look inside your pet’s body without performing open surgery. Using a small, flexible tube with a camera and light at the tip—called an endoscope—our team can visualize internal structures through small incisions or natural body openings.

Endoscopy can be used to evaluate the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, and other internal areas. We can also collect tissue biopsies using specialized instruments passed through the endoscope. This makes it a powerful diagnostic tool for investigating unexplained symptoms, chronic digestive issues, and more.

FAQs About Pet Imaging

Does my pet need sedation for imaging?
It depends on the type of imaging and your pet's individual temperament. Digital X-rays and ultrasound are often performed without sedation in calm patients. CT and endoscopy require anesthesia. Our team will explain what to expect before any procedure.
How long does a pet imaging appointment take?
Most imaging appointments are relatively quick. Ultrasound and X-ray appointments typically take 30–60 minutes depending on what's being evaluated. Endoscopy procedures take longer and require recovery time on-site.
Will I receive the results the same day?
In most cases, yes. One of the key benefits of in-house digital imaging is that our veterinarians can review results right away and discuss findings with you during or shortly after your appointment.
Can imaging detect cancer in pets?
Imaging can identify masses, abnormal tissue growth, and other changes that may indicate cancer. However, a definitive diagnosis typically requires a biopsy or additional testing. If imaging reveals a concern, our team will walk you through the recommended next steps.
